Bring in your media at full rez. From that, run the clips through compressor to your offline codec of choice. DO NOT change any file names. Do your off line edit. When done, MAKE A COPY of your sequence. In the copy, select all, Modify>make media offline (don't trash the offline media yet.) You'll see your clips offline. File>reconnect media: follow the prompts to your full rez media. Couldn't be simpler.
